Description:

The senior mine engineer is a member of the technical services department in the major projects division. The technical services department provides technical expertise to operating or new mine and mill sites in the areas of mining, geo-environmental, metallurgical, reliability engineering and project management.

Working as a technical specialist, you will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies for new mines, designing facilities for underground or open pit mines, evaluating mine plans for development and production, as well as providing technical support to existing operations.

You will also participate on teams evaluating plausible mining scenarios and operational economics for potential property acquisitions worldwide.

You have a bachelor’s degree in mine (or related) engineering, with at least eight years of experience in underground mining or progressive mine engineering positions, or equivalent. You must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).

Ideally, you have experience with mine planning software, ventilation, rock mechanics and long range planning, as well as exposure to financial evaluations. Experience in open pit mining would be an asset.

This position is located in Saskatoon, with frequent travel to operating mine sites.
